2019 AP Poll versus the 2019 Hour Glass Power Rankings
The 2019 Associated Press preseason Top 25 is out - which means welcome to the 2019 college football season; officially.
We have two ball games this weekend to kick off the 150th anniversary of the worlds greatest game and a full slate next weekend.
We dropped our initial power rankings and data back in March and now it’s always fun to see how we compare with the “professionals”.
You can always go back and read on our initial drop by clicking here. An initial write-up on the Associated Press Top 25 can be seen here.
Below are some initial thoughts and notes on the AP Poll and remember, we will have our week one picks out later this week on the site you can purchase for a small price.
NOTES:
Ohio State and Florida both come in a bit high on the AP preseason list, both ranking as top 10 teams but not as high according to our power rankings.
While HG power rankings like Washington enough to place them just outside the top five, the AP is more apprehensive, ranking the Huskies outside the top 10.
UCF, Utah, Michigan State, Iowa, Iowa State, Syracuse, Washington State and Nebraska all ranked in the AP's preseason top 25, but not in our power rankings top 25.
