What’s to like:
Head Coach Shane Beamer and his South Carolina Gamecocks will have high expectations heading into 2025 as they have raised the bar once again. The Gamecocks went 9-4 last season with notable victories over Missouri, Clemson, and Texas A&M. South Carolina will be led by their young QB, LaNorris Sellers, who threw for 2,534 yards and 18 TDs with 674 yards and 7 TDs on the ground.
On the other side of the ball, the Gamecocks will be led by their star DE Dylan Stewart and DB Jalen Kilgore. Stewart racked up 6.5 sacks, 2nd on the team, while Kilgore hawked down 5 INTs, 1st on the team. Expect these two young stars to have another dominant season in 2025.
What’s not to like:
Shane Beamer and South Carolina’s ability to produce elite talent can be a blessing and a curse because the Gamecocks will be sending two supreme athletes to the NFL draft. Nick Emmanwori was the leader of that Gamecock defense in 2024 as he led the team in tackles with 88, and also had 4 INTs, returning 2 for TDs. Emmanwori is expected to be a 1st round pick this year.
The Gamecocks will also be without their stud RB Raheim Sanders. In 2024, Sanders rushed for 881 yards and 11 TDs, making his career totals to 3,111 yards and 28 TDs. These two will certainly be missed in 2025.

Final thoughts:
South Carolina will have either a great season, or an average season. Their success all hinges on their offense and if they can improve on last season. The Gamecock defense will be as impenetrable as ever though. Beamer Ball is rolling down here in the SEC, and the South Carolina Gamecocks are slowly becoming one the hardest teams to beat in the country.
