What’s to like:
Heading into his 2nd season as the Head Coach for the Texas A&M Aggies, Mike Elko has his team looking great. A major part of that is the rise of star freshman QB Marcel Reed, who while split reps with another QB, still put up solid numbers. In 8 starts, Marcel Reed threw for 1,864 yards and 15 TDs while rushing for 543 yards and 7 TDs.
However, defense wins championships and boy do the Aggies look good on that side of the ball. Texas A&M has a plethora of Aggies who can do some major damage, but most notably LB Taurean York and DBs Marcus Ratcliffe and Dalton Brooks. These three guys combined for 189 tackles, 5 INTs, and 3.5 sacks.
What’s not to like:
Texas A&M have a lot of great young talent that could take them to great heights, but they will also have to find some replacements for guys who have departed. Specifically at the WR and TE positions where the Aggies lost 5 pass catchers who all made significant impacts for the team.
The biggest WR that Texas A&M will have to find a replacement for is their standout WR Noah Thomas who transferred to an SEC rival Georgia Bulldogs. Noah Thomas for the Aggies had 574 receiving yards and 8 TDs.

Final thoughts:
Texas A&M will be a fun team to watch in 2025. The Aggies have a second year Head coach with Mike Elko, a second year QB with Marcel Reed, and a bunch of studs on that defense. If Coach Elko can find some replacements for the lost pass catchers, this Aggies team could be a force to be reckoned with. Everything is bigger in Texas and the same goes for the expectations the Aggies will be faced with in 2025.
