Clemson - Ohio State lead crowded field in what should be a wild 2020 college football season
The date - April 16, 2020; and while the main focus around the country, as it should be is the novel Corona Virus and reopening the country - many are watching and waiting to see what happens in the sports arenas.
When or if basketball or baseball will return and what about college football? We maintain as we have for weeks, we will be playing college and NFL football - what that will look like is a different story.
We have already dropped win totals for every team, looked at recruiting and posted our power rankings; all can be read at CFBhourglass.com. Today we tell you who will win the National Title, who plays in the New Years Six day games and wins every conference. The individual conference previews will be coming your way in the coming days and weeks.
2019 college football turned out nothing like many of us thought, with LSU making a historic run to the title and giving us arguably the greatest season out of a quarterback ever - with what we saw from Joe Burrow. Last year we had Georgia defeating Clemson for the National title, but Georgia couldn’t get past LSU in the SEC Title game and while we had LSU at 9-3 this time last year, nobody saw what they were about to accomplish.
Will there be another Joe Burrow to hit the stage in 2020 or can we see someone with a great recruiting profile, elevate quarterback play enough to knock off the favorites?

This year will be unlike anything we have ever seen - with no spring practice, no off season programs of any length and a ton of adjusting. However, everyone is affected by this change, so the numbers on our scale remain unchanged due to the overall affects on every program.
This year in our estimation - we have two elite teams and a double handful of very good teams. While the two elite teams are not heads and shoulders better than the field, their quarterbacks are.
Justin Fields of Ohio State and Trevor Lawrence of Clemson are the cream of the crop in 2020 and both will lead their teams to the National Title this year.
Both teams are ace recruiters, with ace coaching staffs, ace quarterbacks and both teams have the offensive and defensive scoring efficiency numbers to put them in the National Championship. This is why you see them as the favorites in Vegas and Vegas is right on this one. Watching the College Football Playoff semifinal last year between these two, I almost knew this is how our numbers would cook out this year and felt we were watching a preview of a coming National Championship Game.
We have Clemson edging out Ohio State for the National Title in what should be a great football game. What about the rest of the field? What about the Conference Championship winners? Let’s take a look.

Minnesota will have another great year in the Big10 this year, but will not have the horses to knock off Ohio State. Alabama will beat Georgia early, but lose in the SEC Title game to Georgia. Oregon will have a great year, but lose to Ohio State early in the season and Florida will be right there in the East, but not have what it takes to knock off Georgia.
Texas A&M will have a great year in year three of Jimbo Fisher, and be undefeated headed into the last two weeks of the season, but will not be able to dethrone Alabama in the West. Notre Dame has all the tools to make the playoff, but will not be able to handle Clemson when they come to South Bend late in the year.
Boise State and Cincinnati will both go undefeated and have great years in the G5- setting up an all G5 Fiesta Bowl and Georgia and Texas will punch their tickets to the college football playoff - but both not able to knock off their opponents, leading way to Clemson and Ohio State.
