What’s to like:
Curt Cignetti and his Indiana Hoosiers are coming off their best season EVER. The Hoosiers had their best record ever and made their first playoff appearance, and they will have a young QB transferring from Cal who will be looking to continue the winning. Fernando Mendoza in 2024, with Cal, threw for 3,004 yards and 16 TDs.
The new Hoosier QB will have himself a terrific duo of WRs to throw to with Elijah Sarratt and Omar Cooper Jr. These WRs in 2024 combined for 1,551 receiving yards and 15 TDs. That Hoosier defense will also be geared up for a good season as they have returning star DL Mikail Kamara after a season where he racked up 47 tackles, 15 TFLs, 10 sacks, and 2 FFs.
What’s not to like:
The Indiana Hoosiers will sadly be without their leader and star QB Kurtis Rourke. After a season where Rourke threw for 3,042 yards and 29 TDs, he will be leaving as he is expected to be picked in the upcoming NFL Draft. However, Rourke is not the only player on offense who will be departing from Indiana.
The Hoosiers will be losing a total of 3 QBs, 4 RBs, 6 WRs, 3 TEs, and 5 OLs. Head Coach Curt Cignetti did a good job at bringing in guys as replacements, but there are so many holes that still need to be filled on both sides of the ball. Hopefully, for Indiana’s sake, these needs can be met and they can have another great season.

Final thoughts:
The Indiana Hoosiers might have, in a single season, become a legit football school instead of only being known for basketball. Curt Cignetti and his Hoosiers seemingly could do no wrong in 2024, and they have potential to make another season unforgettable in 2025. It will be tough to do so with all the players who will be leaving, but they still have some good talent and will be a fun team to watch.
