What’s to like:

With the exiting of a lot of great players including QB Shedeur Sanders, Coach Prime did his thing and got the Buffalos a shiny new QB. Coach Sanders got star QB Kaidon Salter to transfer to Colorado from Liberty. In his 2 seasons as the starter at Liberty, Kaidon Salter threw for 4,762 yards and 47 TDs while adding 1,668 yards and 19 TDs on the ground.

The Buffalo offense was great last season due to the play from Shedeur Sanders, and now that he is gone, a lot of things will look different. However, Kaidon Salter is a terrific talent, so don’t expect Colorado to slow down at all.

What’s not to like:

The problem heading into the 2025 football season is painfully obvious for the Colorado Buffaloes. The heart and soul of the Buffs will be headed to the NFL with most notable players being Travis Hunter, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders, and a plethora of WRs. While Coach Prime did hit the portal hard, it will be next to impossible to replace these guys.

Also, the core of Coach Prime’s offense, with Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders, will both be drafted in the 1st round of the coming Draft. Coach Prime and the Colorado Buffaloes will have to make serious decisions and adjustments if they want to have the same offensive outputs as last season.

Final thoughts:

It will be extremely tough for the Buffs in the 2025 season. They are losing so much talent, and Coach Prime will be coaching in college for the first time without his son and star QB Shedeur Sanders. They will also be without the Heisman winner Travis Hunter who was their star WR and their star CB. It will be an uphill battle for Colorado, but if Coach Prime can keep his herd of Buffaloes moving forward, they can recover and be dominant.
